I shop in Ann Taylor Loft every week. I spend thousands of dollars there yet when one of my skirts that I wore once bled after a dry cleaning I could not get credit because I needed a government issued id.

Really people? The skirt was $54 and they told me I could get credit for what it's worth which will probably be less. This is NOT cash we are talking about. It's credit!!

Come on. What's with the government ID? Ridiculous!!! Needless to say, I am going to think twice about shopping there again.

I shopped at Saks Fifth Avenue with less stress when returning an item.

It's unacceptable.

Monetary Loss: $54.

Location: Austin, Texas

You have to supply a gov ID because people steal Loft merchandise, and then return it for store credit, so that they can then sell the merchandise credit cards. If a thief does try to return stolen merchandise then they have to put their name on it so it can be tracked if it's sold to someone else.

The same thing happened to me. I have always shopped at LOFT in plainview Long Island NY and have returned one or two items in the past.

Today I retured a jacket and the lady who was not friendly and seemed offended by me returning the jacket gave me a hard time. I am not going back to that store again.
